In a feat of coordination Nancy and her mother had stocked the garden with many of the same flowers - delphinium, foxglove, blowsy antiue roses- that floral designer Pauline Runkle wanted to use in her arrangements: as a result, says Runkle, "The bouquets all looked as if they had been fresh-picked on the farm."
