Pauline Runkle's Biography
Pauline Watkins Runkle is principal of Floral Artistry: a floral design firm located in Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts. Clients include Tiffany and Company, The Dalai Lama of Tibet, Fidelity Investments, The Boston Pops Orchestra, The Disney Corporation and Epcot Center, WGBH Public Television, The Pasadena Tournament of Roses (Judge), Harvard, MIT, Duke, Wellesley, and Cornell Universities.
Ms. Runkle's designs have been featured in magazines: Garden Design, Garden Style, House Beautiful, Victoria, Horticulture, Better Homes and Gardens, Flowers and Country Gardens; in news papers: the Boston Globe, the Boston Herald and the Cleveland Press; and in books: 'A Garden for Cutting', 'Floral Style', 'The Fine Art of Flower Arranging', 'Gardens, Private and Personal,' and 'Flower Arranging: The American Way.'
Ms. Runkle lectures at: Boston Design Center, The Wadsworth Athenaeum, The Royal Botanical Gardens of the British Virgin Islands, The Museums of Fine Arts Boston, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Wilmington, Houston, San Diego, The Walter's Art Gallery, The Cape Ann Museum, The Maine Olmstead Alliance, The Garden Conservancy and The Minneapolis Institute of Art among many others. She is a featured fundraiser and lecturer at botanical gardens, garden clubs and philanthropic institutions coast to coast. Pauline has been part of the visiting faculty of Rhode Island School of Design. She is an exciting lecturer whose personal goal is to cultivate the creative passion within each of her listeners.
Ms. Runkle is a recipient of the AmeriFlora Great American Gardener Award and the Francis Poetker Award for excellence in Floral Design both awarded by the American Horticulture Society. Ms. Runkle is a graduate of Cornell University and an active member of the Garden Club of America and the Garden Conservancy.
